Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is intensifying its international relations and expanding its network to include contacts to Uzbekistan.

On 27 April, a cooperation meeting took place between Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner, President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, and Prof. Dr Bakhtiyor Makhkamov, Rector of Tashkent University of Information Technology, and other representatives of the university in the presence of the Thuringian State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Higher Education and Digital Affairs, Carsten Feller. Tashkent University of Information Technology was founded in 1955 and specialises in degree courses in the fields of computer science, information technology, electrical engineering and engineering sciences. Around 10,000 students are currently studying there on Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes.

The Uzbek University of Information Technology in Tashkent is planning a return visit to Nordhausen in the near future to explore further details of future cooperation in teaching and research as well as student and teacher mobility.

University President Wagner is a member of the official delegation that is visiting Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan this week under the leadership of the Thuringian Minister for Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society, Wolfgang Tiefensee, and the Thuringian State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Higher Education and Digital Affairs, State Secretary Carsten Feller. The itinerary will take them from the Kazakh capital Astana via Almaty and the Uzbek capital Tashkent to Samarkand.
