Student housing

Living on campus

There are six halls of residence located on campus, which are managed by the Studierendenwerk Thüringen. One hall is meant for students of the Studienkolleg only. All halls of residence are renovated. Since wintersemester 2010/11 there’s a new hall of residence with 39 accomodation units and a bilingual nursery.

All halls of residence have free internet access (wifire). Of course, rent is at a reasonable student price. Find out more about student housing and rent on the Studierendenwerk Thüringen's website.

Please adress your application to the Studierendenwerk Thüringen. Find out more about applying for a room.

Living in the city of Nordhausen

You can also choose to live in private rented flats or shared flats at student prices in the city of Nordhausen.

Here are some links of local housing associations:

Städtische Wohnungsbaugesellschaft Nordhausen

WohnungsBauGenossenschaft eG Südharz - Housing examples for students

Horizont-Verein Nordhausen - Jugend-Hostel Nordhausen

Studizentrum Nordhausen GmbH - Student residence at Taschenberg

Furthermore we recommend you to have a look into local newspapers. There you can find a range of private flat adverts. In the university buildings notices of students looking for flatmates can be also found. If both are not an option for you, feel free to contact our International Office for help!
