Acceptance test

Each student who applies to a university in the Free State of Thuringia and has to attend a "Studienkolleg" must first take part in an acceptance test. This involves a German and/or a mathematics test. On successful completion of the acceptance test, the students are accepted according to the performance which they have achieved and under consideration of the available places.

Degree course applicants who submit a conditional university place offer for the M, T or W course (explanation, see Course offers) must complete a German and a mathematics test.

Degree course applicants who submit a conditional university place offer for the G or S course (explanation, see Course offers) must complete a German test.

The procedure

At the start of an acceptance test, each participant's conditional admission and passport are appraised and written information is documented. The passport and the conditional admission are copied and the address is noted down. We require your current postal address to enable us to inform you of the result of the test. Following on from acceptance, we begin to form applicant groups, which are then taken into the classrooms to complete the test. The entire acceptance test takes a total of 150 minutes (German 75 minutes and mathematics 75 minutes).

Correction by the subject teachers is carried out over the next few days immediately following the acceptance test. You are then informed, in writing, of your result by post.
