Studierendenwerk Thüringen is responsible for everything not directly related to the education of students. These include:

  • the student dining hall (Mensa),
  • the student housing complexes on campus,
  • the BAföG office,
  • the cultural support and
  • the social counseling for students
  • and the kindergarten "Campus-Kinder".

Contact Information for BAföG Inquiries

Centralization of Incoming Mail

To effectively and promptly forward postal deliveries to the appropriate employees, the Office of Educational Support has reorganized and centralized its mail handling process. From now on, mail will no longer be sent to individual locations but will be directed centrally to the newly established service team.

The service team will review incoming mail and documents uploaded through BAföG-Digital and assign them to the electronic file. The previously required printing of incoming electronic mail is no longer necessary.

From now on, the new mailing address is:

This mailing address applies to all students at Thuringian universities, regardless of their place of study. If another address, such as the previous one, is used, delivery will still be ensured, but it will lead to avoidable delays in mail processing.

Service Team for General BAföG Inquiries

The newly established service team is also available to all students at Thuringian universities by phone at 03641-5546 390. The service team is reachable:

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM  
Friday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

The service team is happy to assist with general questions about BAföG but, to protect personal data, cannot provide specific answers regarding the content of individual funding applications or the completeness of submitted documents.

Mensa

The opening hours of the Mensa are Monday to Friday from 07:30 to 14:30. During the lecture-free periods, the opening hours may change. Please take note of the notices in the cafeteria.

Cultural Promotion

The Studierendenwerk Thüringen promotes and supports students in organizing cultural events that are not related to their studies. The applicable funding guidelines and applications are available at www.stw-thueringen.de/kultur.
