During your studies in Renewable Energy Engineering (B.Eng.) you will learn how to develop, plan and operate renewable energy systems. The basic elements of renewable energy systems, such as solar thermal, photovoltaic and wind energy systems as well as the use of bioenergy, are the focus of the training. In addition, the degree course deals with the integration of renewable energy systems into existing electricity and heating grids as well as questions of the energy industry and energy law.
Climate change and the related extremes of weather, scarce oil and the ever increasing gasoline and heating costs, and not least the Fukushima reactor catastrophe, have meant that we seriously have to rethink our energy supply. Not only to save costs, we need to use energy more sustainably and produce more environmentally friendly. It is also important for the sustainability of our energy supply to find alternatives for fossil fuels. The energy transition that has begun has ensured that engineers in renewable energy engineering are increasingly in demand in recent years.
