Postgraduate Master's Program in Systemic Consulting (SYB)

The postgraduate master's program in Systemic Consulting is aimed at academics with professional experience in the fields of management, social and health care, human resources and organizational development, as well as training and continuing education. The program will be of particular interest to you if you work with or lead individuals, groups or teams.

This innovative and attractive study program with highly qualified lecturers will enable you to engage in application-oriented, scientific learning on a professional, social and personal level.

In this course of study, you will become familiar with the systemic approach and learn how to apply it to different areas of activity. During your studies you will also learn to analyze and improve structures, processes and developments systemically, i.e. holistically, and to expand your own skills.

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences offers the Master's degree in Systemic Consulting as a part-time continuing education program. In cooperation with IF Weinheim GmbH - Institute for Systemic Training and Development, in-depth scientific and professional knowledge of systemic concepts and methods in consulting and research are taught.

    Academic Degree Master of Arts (M.A.)

    If you document an additional 100 counseling hours upon completion of the program, you can earn the Systemic Counseling Certificate from IF Weinheim.

    From October 1, 2021


    • Completion of a first professional degree of at least 180 ECTS credits primarily in health, social or economic sciences or a comparable degree in terms of content, scope and orientation.
    • A qualified degree is deemed to have been obtained if the course of study was completed with an overall grade of at least "good" or an overall grade of "B".
    • At least one year of professional practice after the 1st university degree in a relevant field of work at the time of the application deadline

    Course of study

    The postgraduate master's program is modular in structure, with the individual modules taking place as block courses. Self-study is provided between the modules. The content of the program consists of the compulsory area with the following topics:

    • Fundamentals of Systemic Consulting
    • Systemic Process Analysis
    • International Studies/Diversity Studies
    • Research logic and research methods
    • Reflection and Evaluation

    In addition, you will choose your profiling direction in the elective area from one of the following two topic complexes:

    • Psychosocial Counseling
    • Institutional and organizational counseling


    The program is accredited through September 30, 2025.
