University Sports

Due to the current regulations for the containment of the Corona pandemic, university sports can no longer take place in the desired form from 02.11.2020. The exercise instructors will provide athletic compensation, even if the joint sports activities have to pause for the time being.

There will be the following offers:

HSN running group

The running group meets weekly on Monday at 4 p.m. and Thursday at 8 p.m. at the college gym.

Beginners are welcome to join us.

Department of University Volleyball

For athletic training and to balance the stressful studies, the volleyball group of the university has existed for over 15 years. Whether it's beach volleyball in the summer or indoor volleyball in the winter, we train our bodies 2x a week to get lean again. A quartet of volleyball-experienced students forms the coaching team and provides for the varied training. The fun is in the foreground with us! Whether beginner or advanced, we train on 2 levels, so that everyone gets their money's worth. We offer a wide range of sports, so it is certainly varied and one thing is for sure: boring.

If you're new to the university & interested in checking it out, just come to a practice time and try it out!

As the largest athletic association at HS, we are also out in the county publicly. Among other things, we have our own college team that competes for the district league championship in Nordhausen. Of course, recreational volleyball tournaments should never be neglected, so we always participate in one or two tournaments per semester.

Club cooperation with SVC Nordhausen

If you are looking for performance-oriented volleyball, Nordhausen is a great location to combine studies and sports. The local sports club plays with the men's team in the regional league and aims to stay in the league. The women's team plays in Thuringia's highest league - the Thüringenliga. That this interaction works is currently demonstrated by 2 students from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Since October 2019, the HSN and the SVC Nordhausen are on a common path to enter into an even better cooperation in the coming years. Currently, future projects are being discussed.

Rocket League Wintersemester 2020/21

Due to the current Corona pandemic, there are only limited opportunities for sports activities at the HS Nordhausen.

Reason enough to try out new ways! Last year it was already foreshadowed, from this summer it is now possible: eSport finds a place at our university.

To be more specific: "This is ROCKET LEAGUE!" xD

There will be a Rocket League platform offered for the first time this semester, where you can play the exciting and action-packed autoball game together with your fellow comillitons/ faculty. Whether you are a newbie / advanced / pro or just a drinking game (orange juice of course). We've packed together cool exercises & crisp short videos to help you improve effectively and have fun if that's what you want.

For the advanced players among us, there will be the opportunity to at least beat the leather pants off other colleges and universities from all over Germany. We will compete in the Uniliga ( ) in league play with the other players from other universities/colleges and of course try to leave the court victorious!

If you are interested, please contact Lars Hüser.

NEW in offer: League of Legends

Training times: Monday and Wednesday from 20:00 - 21:30

If you are interested, please contact Christoph Köhler:
