The team Study & Teaching acts multiprofessionally. This results in a bundle of measures related to studying and teaching.
The department for studies and teaching includes the areas of diversity management and university social work.
The HSN is working on a new teaching and digitization strategy together with the likewise newly founded Teaching Advisory Board, which has been appointed for an initial period of two years. Students, teachers from both departments, representatives from the language center and other interfaces meet at least twice a semester for agenda setting.
In consultation with and with the participation of the Teaching Advisory Board, the Department of Studies & Teaching develops the teaching evaluation, in which all courses are regularly evaluated according to the different event forms. In addition, the Department of Studies & Teaching regularly launches its own surveys and makes the evaluation available to all teachers. A comprehensive student survey takes place once a year.
Each year, various university didactic training courses are held in an in-house format for HSN faculty. The topics vary. Current developments in higher education didactics and formats are offered to the teachers as well as classical higher education didactic trainings. The eTeach Network Thuringia is an important partner in the area of university didactic training.
The eTeach Network Thuringia is an important interface for the HSN to bundle individual initiatives of university teaching throughout Thuringia. (E)didactic formats for university teaching, the need for qualifications, the financing of measures and possibilities of innovation and compensation through synergy effects are discussed and implemented together.
This year, the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society, in cooperation with the Stifterverband, is once again offering up to ten fellowships for innovations in digital university teaching, each endowed with up to 50,000 euros, as part of the Thuringian strategy for digitization in higher education. The aim is to provide impetus for the development and testing of digitally supported teaching and examination formats or the redesign of modules with the consistent use of digital technologies and the dissemination of the results of the respective projects in the sense of best-practice sharing. The call for applications is aimed at teachers working at state-run universities in the Free State of Thuringia. The deadline for applications is May 27, 2022.
For more details on the application requirements and funding modalities, please refer to the attached call for proposals.
There will be an information event (online) for interested applicants onFriday, April 29, 2022, from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.
