The equipment in the laboratory offers students in the Department of Engineering the opportunity to deal with current image processing tasks from industry and research in a practical way. Both commercial and open-source image processing software is used (vision tools from Matlab and LabVIEW, free library OpenCV). The different tasks of industrial image processing, such as
Optical tracking,
Segmentation,
Completeness check,
Pattern recognition,
Object measurement,
but also face recognition and stereoscopic vision can be familiarised with and examined in the laboratory using the hardware listed below.
Cameras:
Digital industrial camera Sony DFW-VL500 (IEEE-1394 Firewire Camera),
Pi cameras and lenses,
Webcams with fixed and variable focal lengths (Logitech C170 and C920),
Basler acA640-90uc (CCD),
SLR camera Olympus E-410.
Other devices:
Oscilloscopes, power supply units and function generators
Tilting table with servomotors
Positioning table with linear motors
Data acquisition cards PCI-MIO-16E-4 and DAQ-Card-6024E for PCMCIA
Raspberry Pi

Credit points are earned for successfully completed coursework and examinations in accordance with the "European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System" (ECTS).
The ECTS points reflect the average learning effort. One ECTS point corresponds to 30 hours of study.
Based on the ECTS points, the study and examination achievements are internationally comparable.
