What is HSNgo?
The "HSNgo" certificate programme is a fee-based course of study that enables prospective students with an indirect international university entrance qualification to prepare for the university entrance examination at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
The Study and examination regulations for the HSNgo certificate programme can be found in the official announcements of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
The certificate programme comprises modules for German, mathematics, English, intercultural regional competence and one module each for the future field of study: economics, social studies or physics, depending on the admission criteria (school-leaving certificate from the home country) and the choice of Bachelor's degree programme.
HSNgo and the university entrance exam
Opportunity to study in Germany
An application for HSNgo in preparation for the university entrance examination opens the way for you to study at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in the Complete Bachelor's programme. However, please bear in mind that your Abitur certificate is decisive for your choice of degree programme. (e.g. a subject-restricted Abitur in economics and humanities in your home country only allows admission to a degree programme in economics or social sciences).

Why you should take part in HSNgo:
Easier access to studying at a German university
HSNgo offers exclusive access to a Bachelor's degree programme at the innovative Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in the centre of Germany. The only admission requirements are a B1 level of German and authorisation to enter higher education in the home country - regardless of the assessment of this school-leaving qualification by Anabin and other bodies. This provides a real alternative to the Studienkolleg with its very limited number of places.ย
Optimum preparation for entrance exams and later studies
All courses are geared towards the requirements of the later university entrance examination, and in addition to the necessary knowledge transfer, practical examination training is also offered. The integrative, modularised study programme also prepares international applicants for their future studies at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
Professional and intercultural integration
HSNgo therefore has two focal points:
- Academic integration, i.e. preparation for a successful start to studies in Germany, including preparatory studies in the language, in certain subjects and in scientific methods;
- social and cultural integration, including joint activities for international and German students and support for international students to help them find their feet in their new environment.
Perspectives on the future
By participating in HSNgo, you will improve your technical and colloquial German language skills. You will acquire the ability to organise your future studies yourself, for example in the areas of communication, presentation and research skills and in the methodology of academic reading and writing. Ultimately, you will develop intercultural skills that will also prepare you for your career and the labour market in Germany.
