Do you enjoy experimenting, researching and tinkering? Then the Student Research Centre is the right place for you! We want to enable young people to freely develop their enthusiasm for STEM subjects and realise their own research ideas. We welcome everyone who is interested in maths, computer science, natural sciences or technology.
The MINT region of Northern Thuringia comprises the four districts of Nordhausen, Eichsfeld, Kyffhäuserkreis and Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis, a large and rural area characterised in particular by its diverse natural landscapes (Südharz, Hainich, Kyffhäuser Nature Park). The Nordhausen School Research Centre has found its home at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The university specialises in engineering and focuses particularly on environmental technology and renewable energies. This makes it a good starting point for the topics of the Student Research Centre, because we want to inspire students to actively shape their environment and their future with the help of scientific methods.
The MINT region of Northern Thuringia has set itself the task of making extracurricular MINT education possible for everyone. This requires close cooperation with schools, associations and regional companies in order to cover rural areas in particular. The Student Research Centre's own programmes are intended to complement the existing programmes offered by regional stakeholders. In the future, a broad network for STEM education is to be created in which the players strengthen each other in order to provide the best possible support for the pupils.
Supported by STIFT - Foundation for Technology, Innovation and Research Thuringia and the Thuringian Ministry of Economics, Science and Digital Society.
