Practice-related teaching

The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences is located in the central university building (Building 18). It offers its students a university education that prepares them for work in companies, social and charitable organisations and the public sector in a practical and targeted manner. Small seminar groups support practice-orientated learning. There are no overcrowded lecture theatres and anonymity, as it is common at many larger universities.

Career orientation

The practical experience of the faculty staff and the close contact with employers in and outside the region ensure an academic education that is geared towards the dynamic requirements of business, the non-profit sector and public administration. Students are given direct opportunities to enter the world of work and careers through internships or a company associated Bachelor's or Master's thesis. Projects and start-up workshops also prepare students for self-employment.

Sustainability and diversity

The Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences is located on a green campus with international students and lecturers. We are diverse in every respect. Hybrid courses allow for mobile and digital working methods. Student participation in the faculty council, examination boards and study commissions as well as active student councils lead to distinct improvements in study programmes.
