The HGM brings together all health-promoting programmes at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The members of the Control circuit HGM regularly exchange health-related information in order to further develop the offer for students and employees in a customised and sustainable manner and Health-promoting working and study conditions and to maintain it. In order to maintain and promote the performance and quality of work of university staff, it is important to permanently reduce stressors in the university environment.
With the aim of maintaining physical and mental health, all employees have the opportunity to take advantage of the health management services organised by the university for a maximum of one hour per week at Offsetting against working time. This must be documented in the comments field when recording working hours. Any additional time spent utilising the services of the University Health Management is outside of working hours.

Blood donation centre
Further information:
The team is looking forward to welcoming many donors - go along! The blood donation will be honoured with 15 euros. Please bring your blood donor pass and identity card/passport with you. Masks are not compulsory, wearing a face mask is recommended. Blood donation is only possible four weeks after recovery. There should be 48 hours between Covid vaccination and donation. The primary aim of donating blood is to provide patients with the safest possible care. For this reason, some willing donors are not authorised to donate, e.g. if they have been exposed to a risk of infection and their donation could transmit diseases (e.g. hepatitis). Those willing to donate must also have sufficient German language skills to be able to complete the donor form independently and carry out the medical consultation themselves before donating blood.

The "Bewegte Pause" programme is becoming increasingly popular and there have been several requests for more than just one offer per month. We have therefore Moving break to offer exercise programmes by employees for employees and will be offering additional weekly exercise programmes with experienced and dynamic colleagues from April.Â
The active breaks of the TK take place at 11.45 am and 1.50 pm, all other offers at 11.45 am (duration: 20 minutes each). Sportswear is not required. Participation is possible in socks, trainers or with shoe covers. Registration is not required.

This course takes place on the second Wednesday of each month (11.09.2024, 09.10.2024, 13.11.2024, 11.12.2024 etc.) from 12:30 - 13:15 in our sports hall.
This is a full-body workout. Strength, endurance, coordination and stability are trained efficiently and effectively in the form of station training. - A course to improve posture and coordination, where you can burn off energy and work up a sweat. A change of clothes is required.

This balanced Training the core muscles is the ideal counterbalance to a sedentary working day and one-sided strain. Special exercises are offered for mobilisation, strengthening, coordination and body awareness to improve posture and mobility. Participants learn exercises to prevent and alleviate back pain. This is a movement course with short information sequences on the topic of back health (e.g. release tension, activate deep back muscles, compensate for muscular imbalances, impart knowledge about the anatomy and diseases of the spine).

The WorkLifePortal allows you to register for all of our university health programmes; the health app allows you to challenge colleagues to health challenges and offers many short videos and audios from the areas of exercise, healthy eating, relaxation & sounds, workplace health, etc.
Completing the activities is not only rewarded with a better sense of well-being; the completed units can also make a lasting contribution to the environment by redeeming the points collected for planting trees.Â

Irrsinnig Menschlich e.V. supports young people with prevention programmes for mental health and openly and easily addresses mental health crises at university.

During training leave, your own health and performance can be improved through theoretical information and practical elements. As an employee, you can take five days off work per year for educational purposes. Your salary will continue to be paid during the training leave.
The costs for the training event are borne by the employee. Around 1300 events have already been recognised in Thuringia. The educational event does not necessarily have to have something to do with your professional activity. Courses on socio-political issues or further training in voluntary work are also possible.
Long periods of sitting can lead to tension and pain. It is therefore important to take regular exercise breaks and do sport. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences would like to contribute to sporting variety in everyday life by offering various exercise programmes:
