Teaching Day 2026: „The Future of Teaching and Learning“

Under the theme „The Future of Teaching and Learning“, this year’s Teaching Day took place at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences on 10 June 2026. The event centred on discussions about innovative teaching and learning concepts, as well as the collaborative design of teaching – with a particular focus on the active involvement of students.

Just how seriously this student involvement was taken was evident from the start right through to the afternoon: Ludwig Lorenz, an MA student at the Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, opened the day with a keynote speech on the topic of „Connected Thinking“ and demonstrated how academic knowledge can be organised sustainably within a personal knowledge management system. Later in the day, students from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences presented their ideas and perspectives on the future of teaching in a dedicated workshop attended by around 60 lecturers.

The programme was rounded off by further workshops led by lecturers from Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and external speakers, who provided insights into current issues in higher education teaching and encouraged professional discussion.

The aim of the X-Campus Dialogue format is to foster transparency across faculties and departments at an early stage, to identify areas of overlap and to shape key developments collaboratively.

As part of the XCampus Dialogues, an HSN AI strategy was recently developed collaboratively. Building on the existing guidelines for the use of artificial intelligence, the strategy sets out priorities for the next three years across various areas of action relating to AI.
