Main tasks of the Student Council

Within the framework of the tasks of the student body, the Student Council ensures that students have a say and a right of co-decision vis-à-vis the management and committees of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences as well as in decisions by public bodies that affect students.

Public meetings

We currently hold plenary sessions every Wednesday at 4pm in the Stura building (House 13).

Further tasks of the StuRa

  • to pass resolutions on fundamental matters of the student body,

  • to draw up the statutes of the student body including supplementary regulations,

  • to pass resolutions on amendments to these Articles of Association and their supplementary regulations,

  • to elect the Executive Board and the financial officers of the Student Council and to decide on their discharge,

  • the election of representatives of the student body for other bodies and committees affecting the student body, including those outside Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, unless otherwise stipulated, resolution on the dissolution of the Student Council with a two-thirds majority of its members, organisation of ballots and general assemblies

  • Promotion of political education
    Representation of students' higher education policy interests

  • Representation of the academic, social and cultural interests of students

  • Promotion of voluntary student sport, insofar as the university is not responsible for this

  • The Student Council represents the student body in and out of court. Representation is carried out jointly by two members of the Student Council, including at least one member of the Executive Board.

Do you have a project that you would like to support?

With your semester fees, you pay €5 to the student administration. Of this, €2 goes to your respective student council and the remaining €3 to the StuRa. These funds are intended to support student activities and projects.

Should you Financial support for one of your ideas, the first thing you need to do is to check with your Student Councilwhether the funding is possible. If this is not the case, please contact us. You can either write to us by e-mail to:  or you can come to our weekly StuRa meeting.

If you are eligible for funding from the Stura, please fill out a funding application form. You can send it to us by e-mail, put it in our letterbox (entrance area of House 14) or bring it to our StuRa meeting.

If you would like to receive funding from the StuRa, you must fulfil the funding guidelines listed below.

Hire of the projector

A projector is now available to initiatives/committees or students, which can be used for presentations, for example.

Hire of the Stura music system

We provide our system with two 400W speakers and a 400W subwoofer, as well as a DJ mixer for hire.

You can use these for events and projects that require sound reinforcement.

The key application form must be completed by all FSRs and users of the StuRa building and handed in at the meeting.

Speakers and musicians must bring a completed contract to the meeting or send it by post.

If there is not (yet) a student council for your degree programme, the StuRa must take over the tasks of the student council.
