2. Friendly atmosphere
Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a relatively small university. This will allow you to get to know your fellow students and professors in person and means you’ll always be able to find someone to answer any questions you might have.
3. Green campus
Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a campus university. All the classrooms and lecture halls are close together so you never have to walk very far from one to another. This also leaves some time to grab a coffee in the breaks.
The green campus offers plenty of open space and grassy areas that are perfect for enjoying the sunshine and relaxing between lectures.

In addition, every summer semester there is the International Project Week – a week of pure international flair on our campus.
5. International activities
There are a number of international activities at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences: International Round Table (meetup for international students in relaxed social settings), the buddy programme, the Experiment in Cross-Cultural Living platform, and a variety of events and excursions – if you love meeting new people and spending your free time with others, you won’t be short of ideas here.
6. No tuition fees
You don’t have to pay tuition fees at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. There is just a small semester payment to be made – but in return you’ll have free rail travel throughout the whole of Thuringia.
7. Low cost of living
Studying can be very expensive. It can be especially hard to find the money for rent on a student’s budget. Fortunately, rents in Nordhausen are among the lowest in Germany – a room in a shared apartment here will only cost you half as much as in Germany’s major cities.
8. Peace and relaxation in nice surroundings
Not only do we have a green campus but we are also surrounded by beautiful countryside. As soon as you leave the town of Nordhausen, you’ll find yourself in the Harz, one of the largest forest national parks in Germany. This provides ample opportunities for sports, hiking, skiing or just relaxing between exams.
9. A charming university town
The town of Nordhausen is located right in the centre of Germany and looks back on a long and rich history. The picturesque old town bears witness to this history. With plenty of cafés and restaurants where they can sit for a while and relax, Nordhausen students are never short of places to go in their free time.
