Study bridge - preliminary courses in preparation for the university entrance examination

To the Winter term 24/25 Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences offers prospective students for the degree programmes Health and Social Services, Curative Education, Social Management, Business Administration, International Business Administration, Digital Product Management and Public Management the opportunity to take a one-year subject and language course in preparation for the university entrance examination.  

Prerequisites:

  • Application for a study place at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in the degree programmes mentioned,
  • Official German certificate for language level B1
  • University entrance qualification in the home country
  • Application for admission to the university entrance examination

Information on the university entrance examination

Prospective students who have successfully completed their studies at an educational institution abroad or have acquired a foreign higher education entrance qualification that entitles them to study in their home country have the opportunity to take this examination at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

Passing this examination entitles you to study in a specific degree programme or a related degree programme exclusively at the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

In order to carry out this examination, the university has Articles of Association issued. This regulates all the requirements that applicants must fulfil/prove.

How is the university entrance examination organised?

Depending on the subject area of the degree programme, the following examinations must be completed in accordance with the T-course or W-course of the Staatliches Studienkolleg and in accordance with the statutes:

In addition to the written examinations, an oral examination must also be taken. Only those who have passed all written examinations will be admitted to the oral examination.

The person to be examined should demonstrate that they have the necessary communication skills in a technical language context and that they are comprehensibly and reflectively motivated for the intended degree programme. The oral part of the examination may cover the content of the written part of the examination.

The oral part of the examination lasts between 15 and 30 minutes per candidate. Up to three candidates can be examined together.
