The internship as part of the degree programme

Universities prepare students for professional activities that require the application of scientific knowledge and methods. With the Bachelor's degree, students acquire a first professional qualification. During work placements, they learn to apply the knowledge they have acquired outside the university. In this way, practical relevance is established and transfer skills are practised. Depending on the subject culture, different skills are emphasised. The Internship Office supports students on all Bachelor's degree programmes in their search for the right internship position, if desired, and provides information on the various requirements.

At Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, all Bachelor's degree programmes in the Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences include integrated practical semesters. The Faculty of Engineering favours the practice-oriented final module, in which a phase of work experience leads to the completion of the final thesis.

Students benefit from the practical phases because they

  • acquire further specialised and interdisciplinary skills,
  • orientate themselves professionally,
  • grow with the tasks in the internship,
  • absorb norms and values of the professional world and
  • Acquire references and establish networks.

Templates of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences

The practical phases are regulated differently in the individual degree programmes. There are therefore various templates. Contracts from companies, authorities or institutions are generally accepted equally. However, in most cases it is necessary to complete a task description so that programme-specific requirements can be checked. Most templates are forms that have been created with a special programme and are available as writable PDFs. This only works if the files are downloaded to your own PC. Otherwise, the data entered will not be saved. It is very much appreciated if the forms are filled in using a PC.

Please note that there are separate templates for the Public Management degree programme.
