In July 2022, a non-European delegation visited Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences again for the first time after the pandemic-related lockdowns - since then, the partnership with the University of Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), a leading university for engineering and economics of the UAS type in Malaysia, has been expanded: Following the signing of a contract to expand the partnership at the turn of the year, the Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Production Engineering at UTHM, Prof. Dr Bukhari bin Manshoor, has been working as a guest researcher at in.RET (Institute for Regenerative Energy Technology) at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences since 1 March. Until 30 November 2023, he will continue to work in the field of power and working machines and support the in.RET staff in research projects with his expertise in mechanical engineering and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations as well as in teaching.

Another member of the UTHM, Prof. Dr Cheng Yee Low, was in Nordhausen as part of the 25th International Project Week (8-13 May) at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, which has just ended: he spent a week working with HSN students on a project in the field of product and service innovation ("Fundamentals of how to Innovate Products and Services").

One student is planning an internship in the Innovation Lab at UTHM next semester, where Cheng Yee Low is particularly active.

The mutual exchange between teaching staff and students promotes mutual acquaintance, cooperation in science and research and the development of joint study programmes.
