Summary of the project

In August 2014, the ISRV was commissioned by the Thuringian Ministry of Social Affairs, Family and Health to compile an overall report on the health situation of Thuringian children based on data from the Public Health Service (here: 2012/13 school entry examinations). The overall report was finalised at the beginning of 2015. The available data was presented and analysed by districts and cities and for Thuringia as a whole. The report also included an evaluation of the Thuringian data in comparison to other data in Germany and internationally. In addition to a scientific analysis, the report also presented key areas of action that will be used to further optimise the planning and implementation of necessary health policy measures to safeguard children's health in Thuringia in the future as part of health reporting.

After completion of the general reporting, further supplementary analyses and evaluations were carried out in cooperation with the Thuringian Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Family and Women's Affairs (TMAGSFF) under the project title "The health situation of Thuringian children and adolescents - an analysis of the available examination results from the public health service from the 1990s to the present" and recorded in a report. The report describes the development of the examination results of the preventive medical check-ups of children and adolescents in the public health service in Thuringia in the period from 1997 to 2014, summarising the most important findings and topics, also with regard to further health reporting. Recommendations for future measures and target formulations are named.
