Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is expanding its cooperation with other universities in Uzbekistan.

As a member of an official delegation led by the Thuringian State Secretary for Economic Affairs, Higher Education and Digital Affairs, State Secretary Carsten Feller, University President Wagner first visited the Polytechnic University of Turin in Tashkent on 27 April 2023. The young and dynamic university was founded in cooperation with the Italian Politecnico di Torino and offers engineering degree programmes such as mechanical engineering, computer science, civil engineering and management.

The university technopark, laboratories and start-up projects were presented to the Thuringian delegation, who were then given the opportunity to discuss further cooperation opportunities and prospects for collaboration. The university showed particular interest in dual study programmes and double degrees. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences was the only one of the six participating Thuringian universities to sign a memorandum on the initiation and deepening of relations as well as an agreement on student mobility.

The Polytechnic University would like to start student mobility as early as the coming winter semester 23/24 and send its students to Nordhausen for an exchange programme.

University President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner also visited the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service on 28 April 2023. Together with its rector Muhiddin Polatov, he explored opportunities for cooperation between the two higher education institutions. The talks culminated in the signing of a memorandum on the initiation and deepening of relations.

The Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service was founded in 1931 and is still a leading educational institution for the training of specialists in the fields of economics, finance, management and service. For Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, there are interesting options for exchange and mobility of students and lecturers in the fields of business administration and management.
