We love languages

Foreign language training at the Language Centre at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is a central component of all Bachelor's degree courses and prepares students for the demands of the global job market. As a rule, the timetable includes two to four hours of intensive foreign language tuition per week, which aims to train students for the increasingly international world of work, in which communication in an international environment has become a matter of course.

However, these language skills are not only important in later professional life, but also during the degree programme itself. They play an important role in academic research, participation in the International Project Week and a possible study or internship abroad.

Master's students also benefit from the language courses offered by the Language Centre. In addition to a diverse elective programme, special courses are offered in English. Students on the Master's degree programmes in Innovation and Change Management, Public Management & Governance and Product Development and Production in particular have the opportunity to take part in practice-oriented courses such as "Meetings and Negotiations" or "Academic Writing". These specifically prepare students for international negotiations and academic writing in English - important skills for a successful career in a global environment.

The regular range of language courses for Bachelor's degree programmes includes English, Spanish, French, Italian and German as a foreign language. The language you can take is determined by the study regulations of your chosen degree programme.
In addition to English as a compulsory subject, you can of course take other language courses (in the elective area). The course "German as a foreign language" is also open to all students whose native language is not German.
