Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is celebrating its 25th anniversary and invites you to a jam-packed weekend of events.
It all starts on Friday, 20 May with the now 9th Long Night of the Sciences. This year's motto is "Living, studying and working in the world of tomorrow". From 7 p.m. to midnight, visitors can look forward to an exciting programme with over 60 contributions from science, research, technology and medicine on campus, on the research campus in Helmestrasse and at several stations in the city and beyond. A detailed overview of all events, topics, times and locations is published on the university's website. Interested parties can also download an overview map here. This will also be available at the event locations on 20 May. Attendance at all events is free of charge. Prior registration is not necessary. The KARZER student club will be selling drinks and visitors can purchase small snacks from the Mensamobil on the library forecourt.
On Saturday, 21 May, the University Information Day. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences opens its doors from 1 p.m. and provides an insight into the entire range of degree programmes on offer. On this day, prospective students have the opportunity to find their desired degree programme, get to know the campus and all the facilities, ask all their questions and get a taste of campus life. The information day will take place in person and will also be broadcast online via live stream, so that prospective students who are unable to come to Nordhausen on this day can also obtain comprehensive information. Visitors can also expect some highlights - for example DJ Patrick Börsch, who once studied here himself. He will be spinning his tunes in the centre of the campus from 1 to 5 pm. Another special feature will be a panel discussion from 3 to 4.30 pm in Forum 1 of the AUGUST-KRAMER-INSTITUT (AKI) on the topic of "No energy transition without skilled workers!", which will start with a keynote speech entitled "Where do we stand with the energy transition?" by Prof Dr Viktor Wesselak.
Not only prospective students are welcome, but also parents, grandparents, siblings and all guests who are interested in Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and its topics and specialisations. No registration is necessary here either.
The event weekend ends with the traditional Alumni Day. The Alumni Day is an event for "former students" of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Many of them have fond memories of their time studying at the family-run campus on the Weinberg. On this day, they want to reminisce about this time, but also take the opportunity to follow the further development. What has actually become of whom, who has developed and how, who is travelling from where and what brought him or her there? People exchange ideas, laugh about anecdotes, refresh contacts and establish professional networks. In addition, two professors, one of whom studied in Nordhausen, offer a brief knowledge update with a lecture.
