"My career goal is to set up my own company!" This thought or firm intention unites well over 50 students at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Dr Kareen Schlangen, start-up consultant in the FHN's Department of Research and Knowledge Transfer, worked closely with Monika Lambrecht from the law firm Lambrecht & Marx to set up the start-up meeting at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences to support students on their career path to starting their own business. It is a platform for exchanging information and experiences for students and graduates of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences who are interested in setting up their own business. On the early evening of 3 June, this start-up meeting took place for the 7th time.

Three start-up projects were presented and discussed together with students and supporters, such as Prof Dr Matthias Viehmann. The North Thuringian Junior Chamber of Commerce was also present to give the young entrepreneurs valuable tips. After all, constructive feedback is a real gift for start-ups. It helps them to further refine their concept, assess possible risks or develop additional ideas.

The first start-up idea was presented by students Silvana Meyer and Janine Köhler. Both are studying for a Bachelor's degree in Social Management and are currently writing their final thesis. Mrs Meyer in particular has had the desire to set up a hospice in Thuringia in her heart for many years. She wants to help people who have suffered a sad fate and brighten their difficult path with a lot of light. Mrs Köhler helps her to work through the financing issues.

This was followed by a commercial idea. Long-time friends Eric Benkenstein and Philipp Belz presented their founding idea "Simpliture". "Simply designing simple furniture, that's our dream," announced Mr Belz. He studied industrial design and already works as a freelance designer in Nordhausen. Eric Benkenstein is studying International Business Administration at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and is primarily responsible for clarifying the economic aspects of the start-up project. With impressive product designs and application scenarios, they have already secured their first customers from the start-up meeting.

The third start-up idea presented has already resulted in a company under civil law. The students Daniel Kulla, business administration student (FH Worms) and Johannes Weise, prospective industrial engineer (Master), created the new drink "Schlükk". Schlükk is a vegan organic wine spritzer from Rheinhessen and promises a sip of happiness. The new way of savouring can already be admired and ordered online.

"The 8th Founders' Meeting will take place in the winter semester. Here, we will once again give founders professional feedback, peppered with specialist impulses," Dr Kareen Schlangen announced in conclusion. She will receive valuable support from Monika Lambrecht, a long-standing start-up coach and management consultant at the law firm Lambrecht & Marx.
