Prof Dr Jörg Wagner will therefore take up his term of office for the next six years. Since 2004, he has been able to further expand the development of the university and strengthen its reputation, in particular through quality assurance in teaching and the promotion of research activities. Following the unanimous election, the University Assembly congratulated Professor Wagner and wished him every success for the coming term of office. The University Assembly is the university's highest decision-making body, comprising external personalities from business, administration and politics, representatives of the professors, employees and students. Professor Wagner expressed his thanks for the trust placed in him.

Jörg Wagner would like to dedicate his upcoming term of office to further strengthening Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in teaching, research and transfer. "We already have very good support for our students at the university, which we want to expand even further." In teaching in particular, the modern and innovative degree programmes at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences are being further developed and constantly adapted to the latest developments. Wagner says of his goals in the area of research: "In recent years, thanks to the commitment of our research colleagues, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has risen to first place in the third-party funding statistics, measured in terms of third-party funding per professor, among the universities of applied sciences in Thuringia. We want to secure this high status in the coming years by further improving the framework conditions."
