Nordhausen (HSPN): In the course of the 2023 summer semester, simulation clients were successfully used for the first time in special courses at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. These extraordinary clients, citizens from the region who are not normally part of the university, take on certain roles in the courses and thus create a realistic and practical training situation for the students. As part of the SimKliP project, the volunteer amateur actors were trained in communication basics and prepared for their roles in advance. The training can be carried out both in person and conveniently from home as e-learning. The initiation of the programme was made possible by the generous support of the Free State of Thuringia and the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft.
Professor Siegel, head of the project, was delighted with the results so far: "The project to involve amateur actors from the local community and the Nordhausen region in teaching at our university has been a complete success. Our students benefit enormously from it, but it was also a wonderful and enriching experience for the committed Nordhausen residents to be part of our university. This project is unique because, as far as I know, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is the first university of applied sciences to offer such a programme outside of medicine and health sciences in all degree courses. We are therefore an absolute showcase project at national level."
Further integration of simulation clients is also planned for the coming semesters. Interested parties can enquire about the project at any time at the e-mail address inform.
