When October approaches and you can hardly get into the office because the boxes are piled up almost to the ceiling, it's clear: the winter semester is imminent. And with it comes the ceremonial enrolment and induction week from 6 October - a highlight for the new freshmen, who are affectionately known as "Erstis" at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.

As a welcome gift, they traditionally receive the popular first-year bags - and this year they are fuller than ever before. Nadine Luschnat from the Department of University Communication and Marketing, who has been contacting old and new supporters for months, is responsible for this. With great success: "I am very pleased with the positive response. Never before have the bags been so well stocked. This is a strong sign of support for our students," says Luschnat.

The bags contain a colourful mixture of practical everyday helpers such as notebooks, pens and lanyards, as well as numerous vouchers and discount offers, information about campus life, university sports and the library, but also small surprises ranging from snacks and condoms to invitations to leisure activities in Nordhausen - including a reference to the campus festival in October.

The bags were packed with the energetic help of students who Nadine Luschnat was able to recruit for the campaign. Together, many hard-working hands ensured that the new fellow students were able to experience a piece of the university community right from the start.

A big thank you goes to all partners and supporters who made this record-breaking event possible. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is looking forward to officially welcoming the first-semester students to the campus soon.
