The project "Inclusion with a difference" analysed the following aspects over the entire primary school period of the inclusive class at K-v-G-H (Kardinal-von-Galen-Haus) in Dinklage: Firstly, the fears and expectations as well as the experiences of teachers/staff and parents of pupils with and without a need for special educational support in relation to inclusive schooling were surveyed. Secondly, the academic development of pupils with and without special educational needs was measured in the areas of German and maths. In addition, the effects of inclusive schooling on extracurricular participation in the inclusive class were analysed in comparison to the parallel classes. The social-emotional school experience was also recorded for both classes. The scientific monitoring of the inclusive class at K-v-G-H thus encompassed different perspectives.
The aim of the scientific monitoring was to be able to make statements about the development of the pupils' academic performance, their participation and their social-emotional school experience both in each class level and in the overall impression over the first four school years. Observations of developments from class level to class level in the form of performance or assessment comparisons were particularly important here. This was designed in the form of a longitudinal analysis. Parents and K-v-G-H staff were surveyed at three measurement points. The survey focussed on attitudes towards the inclusive school project at the respective measurement point, as well as experiences. The results offer the opportunity to further develop the organisation of inclusive schooling at K-v-G-H. A final report was submitted to the school and the school authority (Josegsgesellschaft).
