9th Regenerative Energy Technology Conference in Nordhausen

12 - 13 February 2026

The 9th Regenerative Energy Technology Conference 2026 (RET.Con) will take place from 12 February 2026 to 13 February 2026 in Nordhausen.

The RET.Con is aimed at companies and research institutions in the field of renewable energies, which present topics from their current research and development work and discuss them in a scientific context.

The need for a rapid and comprehensive expansion of renewable energies is currently being questioned by populists around the world. At the same time, expectations regarding the speed of transformation are becoming ever higher. As a result, specific measures - such as the expansion of wind power or the energy supply of residential buildings - are accompanied by intense social debate. These are often not in line with scientific findings - time to talk about it!

The Institute for Regenerative Energy Technology (in.RET) at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences invites companies and research institutions to present and discuss their technical developments in the fields of energy converters and energy storage systems in a scientific setting. Solutions for the energy supply of buildings or neighbourhoods are also the subject of this conference. One focus of this year's conference will be methods and results of energy system modelling.

The following topics will be covered in different sessions:

  • Renewable energies: solar and geothermal energy, bioenergy, photovoltaics, wind and hydropower
  • Supply concepts for buildings and neighbourhoods, energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in industrial processes
  • Energy system modelling, energy storage and sector coupling

We look forward to receiving contributions in the form of an abstract (maximum 2 pages). by 15 October 2025 at the latest electronically on can be submitted.

The conference language is German. The contributions will be published in conference proceedings.
