The Faculty Council is responsible for the most important academic and organisational matters in the faculty, such as

  • Election of the Dean
  • Appointment of the examination boards and the study commissions
  • Resolution on the members of appointment committees and appointment proposals
  • Establishment, modification and cancellation of study programmes
  • Study, examination and internship regulations
  • Principles for equipment and resource allocation within the department
  • Resolution on the department's budget and annual accounts

The notice period for meetings is 7 days. Questions and draft resolutions for discussion in the Faculty Council must be addressed to the Dean's Office. The meetings of the Faculty Council are open to the public. The FBR is quorate if at least half of its voting members are present. Decisions on personnel matters are made by secret ballot. Resolutions can also be passed by electronic circulation procedure. The meetings, including all resolutions, are recorded in minutes.

The department is divided into four study areas. These are

  • Social Management (SoMa)
