University President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner receives report on accessibility for people with disabilities from curative education student course

Nordhausen (HSPN): Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is delighted to announce the receipt of the second "Accessibility Report", which was compiled by students on the second semester of the curative education programme as part of their English course. This report examines the accessibility of the campus for people with disabilities and was officially presented to the President of the University on 5 July.

For many years, students on the curative education degree programme have carried out an annual tour of the campus in their second semester to assess accessibility for people with disabilities. Since 2014, there has been a corresponding report with the results.

This report for 2023 marks nine years of progress in this ongoing initiative. In particular, this year takes into account the renovation of Building 19, which was completed in 2022. Students hope that further renovations will follow in the coming years to further improve the accessibility of the campus.

The report was compiled by the special education students with great care and professionalism. It contains detailed information about the existing barrier-free facilities, such as ramps, lifts and wheelchair-accessible toilets. It also presents possible suggestions for improvement and recommendations for further promoting accessibility on the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences campus.

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences endeavours to create an inclusive environment in which all students, staff and visitors can benefit equally from the educational and research facilities. The "Accessibility Report" provides valuable insights and will serve as an important basis for taking further measures to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.
