Home | Practical semester
In order to ensure practice-orientated learning, a practical work placement is integrated into the course. It consists of a work placement supervised by the university and a seminar on the work placement.
The start of the internship and the internship location are in advance from the Central Internship Office (Contact person: Mrs Bargfrede) on the basis of the completed Forms (download to fill in and save locally) to be authorised.
Regulations on the admission requirements, implementation and recognition of the work placement are set out in the Internship regulations (Annex 3 of the study regulations) and the examination regulations of the degree programme.
The work placement is scheduled for the 5th semester and lasts at least 20 weeks. It must have an international connection - either through an internship abroad or through an internship in a domestic company with an international task.
As a rule, students look for internships on their own initiative. If required, students are also supported by the internship coordinator of the degree programme and the Central Internship Office of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
Internships have been completed in recent years at:
The seminar on the practical work placement semester serves on the one hand to provide specialist support for the practical work placement and on the other hand to prepare the associated graded report in accordance with the Guide and its presentation.
Ideally, you should complete an internship abroad. Many German global players also offer this. If this is not possible for certain reasons and you have already completed a semester abroad, you also have the opportunity to work in Germany, but on a task with an international focus.
Some companies are specifically looking for interns through job advertisements, but it is also worth searching the career portals of companies or organisations for corresponding offers:

There are also various internship and job exchanges. However, you should not use paid agencies, as they often conceal dubious providers and there are plenty of free offers.
