If you would like to study abroad, you should start organising early (12-18 months in advance). For example, if you are planning a stay in the third semester, you should contact the International Office in the first semester. Please take a look at the Timeline on. There you can see exactly when you should complete which steps.

October to December: Interest & information (steps 1-6) During this phase, students should gather information and express their interest in studying abroad.
November to January: Counselling (steps 7-9) Students should hold counselling sessions.
December: Decision (step 10) The decision in favour of studying abroad should be made.
December to January: Online application (steps 11-12) The application for the study abroad programme is made online.
January: Learning Agreement (Step 13) The Learning Agreement must be finalised.

February: language certificate if applicable (step 14) If necessary, proof of language proficiency should be provided.
March to April: Application to the partner university (step 15) The application must be submitted to the partner university.
May to July: Documents, watch list & checklist (steps 16-17) In this phase, all necessary documents, checklists and reminder lists should be checked and compiled.
August: Departure Departure for the study abroad programme is in August.

Erasmus+: The internal application deadline at HS Nordhausen is 1 February for the following academic year
PROMOS: The internal application deadline at HS Nordhausen is 15 January for the summer semester and 15 June for the winter semester (including the additional documents)
Fill out the Learning Agreement, coordinate with the responsible person in the department (WiSo: approval by the chair of the examination board; Ing: approval by the dean of studies). Subsequent submission to the International Office.
If applicable, submit the documents required for Erasmus or PROMOS funding (please note the information in the online application system).
Participation in the final information event and receipt of the document folder
Record any changes in the ECTS Learning Agreement and send it to the person responsible for the degree programme (forwards it to the International Office) for approval
Before departure Letter of Confirmation have it signed by the ERASMUS coordinator there as confirmation that you have completed your studies abroad (max. 5 days before the date of departure)

Erasmus+: Participation in EU online survey and OLS language test
After receiving the Transcript of Records from the partner university: Fill out the ECTS crediting of grades, submission of the ECTS grade transfer form and the Transcript of Records (original) to the International Office. The conversion of the grades is carried out according to an approved Grade conversion table.
Credit points are earned for successfully completed coursework and examinations in accordance with the "European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System" (ECTS).
The ECTS points reflect the average learning effort. One ECTS point corresponds to 30 hours of study.
Based on the ECTS points, the study and examination achievements are internationally comparable.
