We strive for a world in which sustainable energy solutions take centre stage and a clean, secure energy future is created for all.
Our mission
The in.RET endeavours to promote the development of sustainable energy concepts through excellent university teaching and innovative research in the field of renewable energy technology. We work closely with companies, organisations and authorities to improve energy efficiency and promote renewable energies.
The Institute for Regenerative Energy Technology (in.RET) was founded in 2008 and has been growing steadily in terms of staff and projects ever since.
At the end of 2009, in.RET moved into its new offices and laboratories in Building 34, a partially listed building from 1956, following its complete refurbishment.
The refurbishment was financed with €2.3 million from the state of Thuringia and ERDF funds.
As early as 2003, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences was one of the first in Germany to start a Study programme in renewable energy technologywhich is now being continued as a Bachelor's and Master's degree programme.
The foundation of the in.RET further strengthened the university's profile and promoted its competitiveness in research and teaching.
The in.RET works closely with companies and research institutions in Thuringia and beyond.
Thanks to the financial support of the Free State of Thuringia, the institute could be realised.
