...regenerative energy technology?
Regenerative energy technology deals with the sustainable generation and utilisation of energy from renewable sources. The aim is to replace fossil fuels with environmentally friendly alternatives and ensure a sustainable energy supply. Engineers in this field develop, plan and operate systems for the utilisation of solar energy, wind power, bioenergy and other renewable resources.
A degree in Renewable Energy Technology opens up a wide range of career opportunities in the promising renewable energy sector. You can work in areas such as the planning and project management of energy generation plants, in the operation and maintenance of such plants or in research and development. In addition, companies in the energy industry, consulting firms and public institutions offer numerous employment opportunities. Your skills are needed to develop and implement innovative solutions for a sustainable energy supply.

Climate change, scarce fossil fuels and rising energy costs make it clear that we need to fundamentally rethink our energy supply. If you are interested in shaping a sustainable energy future and promoting renewable energies, the Regenerative Energy Technology degree programme is just right for you.
With us, you will learn how to develop, plan and operate innovative energy systems. You will deal with solar thermal, photovoltaic and wind energy systems as well as the utilisation of bioenergy. You will also learn how these systems are integrated into existing electricity and heating grids and which energy industry and legal framework conditions need to be observed.
The Regenerative Energy Technology degree programme can be completed as a regular full-time or part-time degree course at the university. Through practical projects and close cooperation with industry, you will be optimally prepared for the diverse challenges of the energy transition. For example, the final module in the 7th semester can be completed in a company.
If you would like to have even more practical components in your degree programme, the degree programme can also be completed as an optional degree course.Practice or studyPractice PLUS be completed. You will find more detailed explanations further down the page.
The degree programme comprises a combination of compulsory and elective modules. The first two semesters impart basic engineering knowledge in a practical and project-based manner. The second part of the programme focuses on regenerative energy technology, including its integration into electrical and thermal energy systems. The programme ends with a six-month final module in research or industry, which offers a practical and professionally qualifying degree.

Vocational training or study...?
Just can't make up your mind?
Who says you have to choose?
We have the right thing for you!
The StudiumPraxis programme combines the advantages of an academic degree with the benefits of in-depth practical phases in a company. The company accompanies you as a practice partner throughout your entire degree programme. While you study according to the regular curriculum, you gain practical experience with your practice partner during the lecture-free period. This gives you a concrete perspective early on of what your professional career could look like after graduation. The company training allowance will provide you with financial support from the start of your studies.
As a graduate of this practice-intensive degree programme, you will have a high-quality academic degree (Bachelor) and tailor-made content from the company. This will equip you with the theoretical and practical knowledge you need to join the company.
Even when studyingPractice PLUS a company accompanies you as a practice partner throughout the entire degree programme. In addition, some content from the regular curriculum of the "Regenerative Energy Technology" degree programme is not completed at the university, but at the practice partner through practical modules. This results in an adapted curriculum for this type of degree programme with an even higher practical component.
