You can find an initial indication of whether your educational qualification entitles you to study in Germany in the DAAD admissions database.
In the anabin database(only available in German) you can check how a foreign qualification, university degree and institution etc. is categorised in the German education system.
Before applying, please inform yourself about the admission requirements for your desired degree programme at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences on the Website of the study programme.
International applicants can already apply before the Application period and apply for a Bachelor's degree programme by 30 August each year. We recommend applying as early as possible so that you are able to meet all deadlines (application, visa, etc.).
Scans of sufficient quality of the above-mentioned application documents are sufficient and all documents can be submitted online via the HISinOne or Uni-Assist portals.
You can initially specify an earlier semester start or the semester start that is currently open. After admission, the start of the semester can be adjusted on request.
A decision on the equivalence of your educational qualification is made on the basis of the assessment proposals of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs.
If your certificate is recognised as equivalent to the German certificate and your knowledge of the language of instruction is sufficient, you will be admitted directly to the course.
If the certificate is only partially comparable with the German certificate, you will receive conditional admission with the requirement to take the "Examination to determine the aptitude of foreign applicants for admission to a degree programme at universities in the Federal Republic of Germany" (Feststellungsprüfung) before starting the degree programme. Preparation for the assessment test usually takes place in a one-year course at the Studienkolleg Nordhausen.
As an alternative to the Studienkolleg, the University entrance examination (possibly with participation in the one-year HSNgo" certificate programme to prepare for the examination) is an attractive way to start studying at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in a time and cost-saving manner.
If your language skills are at B1 level (CEFR), you will receive conditional admission to study at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences with the requirement to provide proof of language skills at C1 level (CEFR) by the start of your studies. By participating in the HSNgo" certificate programme (subject to a fee), you can prepare for the university entrance exam in terms of language and subject knowledge.
If you have language skills at B2 level (CEFR), you can apply directly for the University entrance examination register. Passing this examination entitles you to study at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
Paid German courses in Nordhausen are available, for example, at the Learning Studio Nordhausen. The chargeable offers of the German University Online (DUO) of g.a.s.t. are recommended. There is also a Studienkolleg Nordhausen the opportunity to take the DSH exam as an external person.
