Environmental and recycling technology is an interdisciplinary field that deals with the development and application of technologies to minimise environmental impact and promote the sustainable use of resources. The focus is on innovative methods for the recycling of materials, the management of waste and the reduction of environmental pollution, thereby contributing to environmental protection and the efficient utilisation of natural resources.
Graduates are equipped with the knowledge and skills to develop solutions to the challenges of resource scarcity and environmental degradation.
Graduates of the Environmental and Recycling Technology degree programme are in high demand in various industries due to their specialised knowledge in sustainable technologies. Career opportunities include positions in environmental engineering, waste management, recycling technology and sustainability consulting. Professionals in this field work in sectors such as industry, energy, construction and government, where they play a crucial role in the development and implementation of sustainable resource management strategies.
In addition, graduates are ideally prepared for research and development tasks in which they contribute to the innovation of new technologies that promote the circular economy and reduce the ecological footprint of industrial activities.
The Master's degree programme in Environmental and Recycling Technology at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences offers an innovative curriculum that prepares students to tackle some of the most pressing environmental and recycling challenges of our time.
By combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience, students learn to develop and implement advanced technologies that minimise environmental impact. They gain insights into new recycling technologies in order to optimise the use of resources in terms of sustainability.
The degree programme includes modules in project management, environmental law, life cycle analysis and specialisations in environmental engineering and recycling technology. Students also write a Master's thesis and work on practice-orientated projects, often in collaboration with industry partners.
The programme is aimed at graduates with a Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, waste management or related disciplines. It is particularly suitable for those who wish to advance their career in the field of environmental engineering and sustainable resource management. The programme is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sustainability and want to gain the expertise to lead initiatives to tackle environmental challenges.
Graduates of this degree programme can expect a variety of exciting career opportunities in different industries. They are prepared to lead environmental and recycling projects, develop new technologies for waste management and contribute to the global sustainability movement. With a strong focus on practical application, the programme provides the skills needed to manage complex projects, work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and tackle the environmental problems of today and tomorrow.
Applicants must submit a certified copy of their Bachelor's degree certificate, a transcript of records, proof of English language proficiency and an APS certificate (if applicable). Additional documents such as a letter of motivation may also be required.
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are awarded the internationally recognised degree of Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Environmental and Recycling Engineering. The programme is accredited by the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN), which guarantees its compliance with high academic standards and its recognition by employers and institutions worldwide.
Applications from international prospective students for Bachelor's and Master's programmes are submitted via uni-assist.
There, experts will check your documents and, after a successful assessment, forward them to Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, which will decide on admission.
