13 December 2024
Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has signed a cooperation agreement with Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH in order to offer students, particularly those studying environmental and recycling technology, practical study opportunities.
University President Prof Dr Jörg Wagner and Dr Sebastian Jeanvré, Managing Director of Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH, signed the contract. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Rutz, Professor of Recycling Technology and member of the Thuringian Innovation Centre for Recyclable Materials (ThIWert), initiated the cooperation and was also present.
The partnership between the university and the environmental law firm provides for a close integration of theory and practice. The focus is on actively involving dual students in projects at the environmental law firm. Students have the opportunity to gain valuable practical experience alongside their studies. For example, they will gain insights into topics such as product law and innovative recycling processes. Research projects, particularly in the field of ship recycling, are also part of the co-operation.
In addition, the environmental law firm offers students the opportunity to write their theses in collaboration with the company and is also open to future cooperation with the international Master's degree programmes at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
"With Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH, we have gained a strong partner that not only makes an important contribution to the practical training of our students, but also supports the transfer of knowledge and innovations to industry," explains Prof Dr Jörg Wagner, President of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
Dr Sebastian Jeanvré, Managing Director of the Environmental Chancellery, emphasises: "Engineers in the field of recycling and environmental technology are essential for shaping a sustainable future. With this cooperation, we want to promote young talent and at the same time develop innovative solutions for the challenges of our time."
Prof Dr Michael Rutz, who drove the cooperation forward, adds: "This partnership gives our students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a challenging practical environment. The collaboration will not only strengthen the quality of education at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, but will also help the environmental law firm to attract highly qualified specialists."
Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH, based in Laatzen, has been a reliable partner for companies wishing to fulfil their producer and product responsibility ever since it was founded. The company is a leader in the development of solutions for the circular economy and supports its clients with interdisciplinary expertise in the areas of product law, environmental protection and recycling.
With this co-operation, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences and Umweltkanzlei Beratungs- und Prüfgesellschaft mbH are taking another important step in practice-oriented academic training and the promotion of sustainable innovations.
