3 September 2026
The management consultant and expert in innovation management is joining the Department of Economic and Social Sciences at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The appointment was made on 26 August by the university’s president, Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner.

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has appointed Dr Christopher Kulins as Professor of Digitalisation and Digital Marketing. The economist, who was born in Hanover, brings with him experience from strategy consultancy, technology companies and international conference work, and will in future teach in the Department of Economic and Social Sciences.
Kulins obtained his PhD in innovation management and has been a regular speaker at international management and technology conferences since 2014, including events in Vancouver, Tel Aviv, at the University of Oxford and in Silicon Valley. In addition to his work as a management consultant, he has lectured at various universities.
Kulins began his career as a research assistant at the Institute for Business Management at Leibniz University Hannover and at various spin-offs he had founded himself. This was followed by roles as a project manager at etventure and as a manager at the audit and consultancy firm EY. Most recently, as head of the Innovation Lab at Porsche Consulting, he was responsible for a wide range of innovation projects. He is now bringing this combination of academic research and practical consultancy experience to his teaching.
A key focus of his work is the effective use of artificial intelligence in innovation and strategy processes. Kulins intends to work closely with students on relevant research and practical projects.
„In Christopher Kulins, we are gaining someone who not only researches digitalisation but has also been implementing it in companies for years. This combination of academic research and practical experience is exactly what our students need as they embark on their careers,“ says University President Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner.
„Digital marketing and innovation management are currently changing faster than any textbook can keep up with – particularly as a result of artificial intelligence. My aim is for students to become familiar with practical tools and to understand when it is really worth using them and where the current limitations lie,“ says Prof. Dr Christopher Kulins.
