Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is pleased to announce the reopening of the beach volleyball court. The construction of the new court right next to the university's gymnasium was made possible in a short space of time, thanks in particular to the commitment of the Construction Department and the provision of funds from the Health and Social Studies Department. It is now available to students and staff of the university for sporting activities.

The beach volleyball court was officially put back into operation on 9 July 2024 in bright sunshine in the presence of the Dean of Studies Professor Seidel, the University Sports Coordinator André Rummel and Mr Daniel Rübesamen as representative of the Construction Department. The students of the "Social Professions and Sport" seminar had the honour of being the first to use the field and showed off their skills. This opening emphasises the importance of sport and physical activity in the context of the social professions and demonstrates the university's commitment to an active course of study and a holistic and practical education for its students.

Prof. Dr Stefan Siegel from the Department of Health and Social Affairs emphasised the importance of sport and exercise for physical and mental health.

"Thanks to the financial support of our study area, we were able to realise this project. It is a symbol of Nordhausen University's commitment to providing its students with a diverse and supportive learning environment and a further step in our mission to create the best possible learning and living conditions for our students and to enable them to achieve a good work-life balance on site."
