The Bildungsportal Thüringen (BPT) and the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences will sign a cooperation agreement on 5 August 2005 at 15:00 in the Rectorate of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Dr Heinz-Dietrich Wuttke from the Ilmenau University of Technology, project manager of the Thuringia Education Portal, and Prof. Dr Sylvia Schade-Dannewitz, Vice-Rector of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, will do so in Nordhausen on behalf of their rectors.

This cooperation agreement defines the future collaboration. The aim of the co-operation is the participation of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences in the joint project Bildungsportal Thüringen. As part of the project, data on further education programmes at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences will be provided free of charge by the Thuringia Education Portal.

The BPT is a project funded by the Thuringian Ministry of Culture and initiated by the Friedrich Schiller University Jena, the Technical University Ilmenau, the Bauhaus University Weimar and the Erfurt Study Centre. The internet platform serves to jointly market the academic continuing education programmes offered by Thuringian universities. It is part of the vision of Campus Thuringia. By including Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, the BPT can better fulfil its objective and task as a mediator between the continuing education programmes offered by the Thuringian universities and those interested in education.

Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is therefore the eighth Thuringian university in the joint project Bildungsportal Thüringen, and the ninth university, Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences, is to be integrated this year.
