Press release of the KleineWege® Autism Centre:

The team at the KleineWege® autism centre in Nordhausen had an intensive, eventful and exciting year in 2019. The company was one of the first participants in the ESF-funded "Digital Team Building" project. The company found out about the project from an advert in the newspaper and was immediately interested. In January 2019, the project was launched together with project manager Reinhard Boltin (AWT Akademie für Wirtschaft und Technologie GmbH) and project employee Jens Rose (Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences) with a kick-off workshop.

Why does the Autism Centre, which supports children, young people and adults with challenges on the autism spectrum and similar communication impairments, need such a project? As with many companies, the success of the Autism Centre also depends on having the appropriate knowledge for its work quickly available to the employees involved in the process and successfully promoting team learning and thus the dissemination of knowledge. If this is successful, the pool of specialists can be developed sustainably and good conditions can be created for the efficient and resource-saving organisation of internal specialist guidance in the interdisciplinary team.

They wanted to get something going for their employees and actively support them with the growing challenges of digital transformation, demographic change and the shortage of skilled labour. This required appropriate expertise and a tailor-made mix of training and consulting support for the company when it came to the process of adaptation and continuous improvement at the Autism Centre. This is exactly what was found in the "Digital Team Building" project.

After a year of joint endeavours, all partners can draw a very positive conclusion.

The autism centre was able to improve the quality of knowledge work, shorten the distances and times for decisions and, above all, achieve greater sustainability for its operational knowledge. To this end, several protected digital platforms, so-called team books, were set up and employees were trained in the use of this digital assistance and support system and coached in the ongoing work process. After a year of intensive support, the process initiated by the ESF project can now be continued independently and the centralised management and further enrichment of knowledge can be driven forward.

Project manager Reinhard Boltin was able to state at the joint closing event: "The project objectives in terms of team-building platform work and team learning in a digital context were fully achieved."

In 2020, the pilot project subsidised by the Free State of Thuringia with funds from the European Social Fund will enter the next round. It is aimed at companies and social organisations regardless of sector, size or market situation in the districts of Nordhausen, Kyffhäuserkreis, Unstrut-Hainich-Kreis and Eichsfeldkreis that would like support in coping with the currently rapidly changing world of work. The project team is available for up to one year to provide intensive counselling, knowledge transfer and coaching in order to put the desired change process on a successful path.

If you would also like to benefit from this project or would like to find out more about the "Digital Team Building" project, please contact the project team on 03601 446205 or 0157 80528309 (Reinhard Boltin) or 03631 420834 (Jens Rose). We would also be happy to visit you on site to present the project. We can then check whether the project is suitable for your company and whether you can benefit from it for your business development. Quick decision-makers still have a chance to participate in 2020.
