Home | Girls' Day at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences: A future day for girls
26 March 2024
Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is delighted to once again be hosting Girls'Day - the Girls' Future Day - on Thursday, 25 April 2024, from 08:30 to 14:00. This nationwide initiative enables girls to gain insights into professional fields in which women have so far been underrepresented, especially in the STEM fields (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

A day that opens up new perspectives
Girls' Day is more than just a day. It is an opportunity for young girls to think outside the box and explore careers and fields of study that they may not have considered before. On this day, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences opens its doors to offer schoolgirls practical experience in areas where the potential of women is still largely untapped. From IT and engineering to natural sciences, Girls' Day shows that these fields hold exciting career opportunities for bright and curious women.
Programme highlights
This year's programme promises an exciting mix of workshops, talks and hands-on activities specifically designed to get girls interested in STEM subjects. Participants will have the opportunity to make direct contact with female professors, students and experts who will share their experiences and provide insights into their career paths. This year, there will also be programmes from the fields of economics and social sciences.
Registration
Interested schoolgirls from the 5th to the 12th grade are cordially invited to register online via the Girls'Day Radar on the nationwide platform https://www.girls-day.de/ to register. If Girls' Day is not organised as a school event, pupils can also be released from school lessons individually at the request of their parents - information on this can be found at https://www.girls-day.de/schule-eltern/gut-zu-wissen.
Taking part in Girls' Day is not only an opportunity to actively shape your own future, but also to send out a strong signal in favour of equality in careers and science.
