Healthy eating is far more than just a trend: it is a decisive factor for performance, concentration and well-being in everyday study and work life. Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is making healthy eating a practical experience in 2026 with a new series of workshops. In a total of four nutrition workshops, which will take place once a quarter, employees and students will have the opportunity to try out a balanced diet that is suitable for everyday life and take away lasting impulses for their health.

The event kicked off on 29 January 2026 with a practical nutrition workshop on the topic of „Healthy breakfast“ and „Brain food“. In small groups, simple, healthy dishes were prepared at several cooking and preparation stations and then tasted together. The practical cooking was complemented by expert input, a myth check and an exchange on nutrition suitable for everyday life. Participants were able to take away recipes and materials so that they could apply the content directly to their everyday lives.

The workshop series is organised as part of Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences' health management programme and takes place in cooperation with Techniker Krankenkasse. Susan Türpe, an ecotrophologist (FH) from projecDo GmbH, will be organising the event.

A balanced diet not only supports physical health, but also has a positive effect on mental strength and performance. It increases concentration and energy in everyday working and studying life, promotes stress management and mental stability and strengthens the immune system. Practical, quick recipes are particularly helpful when time is tight. In addition, cooking and eating together helps to promote dialogue and community on campus. The aim of the programme is to strengthen health literacy and promote motivation to realistically integrate a balanced diet into everyday life at university and at work.

The series comprises four workshops in 2026, with two sessions per date. Over the course of the year, the focus will be on energy and concentration through a balanced breakfast, time-saving meals for long working and study days, healthy snacks as an alternative to stress and nerve food and strengthening the immune system and gut health during the cold season.

This makes healthy eating at the university a practical experience: cooking together, eating together, taking away sound knowledge - for more energy, concentration and well-being in everyday study and work life.
