Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences (HSN) and Pabst Elektro-Service GmbH of Berga signed a cooperation agreement on 19 August. The agreement was signed by the University’s President, Prof. Dr Jörg Wagner, and the company’s Managing Director, Stefan Pabst.

The partnership covers several areas: both partners intend to support one another in research and development projects, work on joint projects and collaborate in the field of continuing professional development. There are also plans for joint training programmes and the provision of topics for Bachelor’s and Master’s theses.

This partnership opens up concrete opportunities for students at HSN. For example, it will be possible to undertake work placements and write final-year dissertations directly with the partner organisation. The company thus offers practical insight into the field of electrical engineering and the day-to-day operations of a medium-sized business.

A further objective is to build a network of partners from business, industry and academia both at home and abroad, and to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology between the university and businesses.

The collaboration was initiated and supported by the Transferwerk at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. The Transferwerk brings the university and regional businesses together and provides support in setting up joint projects in research, teaching and practice.
