Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is pleased to announce the launch of its new Science Blog. The blog serves as a central platform to make scientific research, innovation and technological developments at the university accessible to a broad public. It is explicitly aimed at people outside the scientific community, such as students and prospective students, as well as stakeholders from the business world.

The new Science Blog replaces the university's previous blog and expands it to include a comprehensive science, innovation and transfer section. This area serves as a cross-university knowledge and communication platform on which research results are communicated in a concise and comprehensible form. Scientists at the university thus offer the interested public an opportunity for dialogue.


The blog has a clear structure and focuses on different target groups. Regular posts provide information about current research projects, scientific publications and events at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences. Information is provided in three different categories:


The Research profile of the university is reflected in targeted research activities in the areas of GreenTech, governance and services of general interest. Milestones achieved and interim results ongoing research projects provide insights into the university's research activities and links to the relevant project websites. And finally, blog articles Publications on current research findings and innovative developments in an understandable and practical way.



One example of this is the article "Why do consumers sometimes decide against buying a new smartphone and wait for future innovations instead?", which sheds light on the psychological and technological factors that influence purchasing decisions in the technology sector.


Another article deals with the "Uncertainty assessment of the energy system model of the Free State of Thuringia using a Monte Carlo approach", which shows how innovative calculation methods are used to model energy systems.

The blog was created as part of the "Innovative University" funding initiative, a joint initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Joint Science Conference (GWK). It was realised by the Transfer plant of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences.
