The degree programme is aimed at high school graduates with an interest in technology who wish to enter a future-oriented, practical and broadly applicable professional field. Successful completion of the programme qualifies students for jobs in the development, production and servicing of electrotechnical and electronic systems and devices - across all sectors.

In the first few semesters, the degree programme teaches comprehensive fundamentals of electrical engineering, electronics and automation technology. From the third semester onwards, students can choose between two specialisations:

  • Electrical engineering: focussing on energy systems, energy networks and supply, energy technology and drive technology
  • Electronics: specialising in electronics development and production, device technology and controller-based electronic systems

The electronics profile is particularly forward-looking: it contains modern content on the repairability and energy efficiency of electronic assemblies - topics that are becoming increasingly important in view of growing sustainability requirements and upcoming legal regulations.

The programme is coordinated by Prof. Dr Wang and Prof. Dr Viehmann, who underline the relevance of the course:

"Electrical engineering and electronics are key technologies in all branches of industry - this opens up a broad and secure professional field for our graduates. Individual profiling from the third semester onwards makes it possible to focus on personal interests," explains Prof Viehmann. "You can't go wrong with this degree programme - it guarantees a diverse and practice-oriented entry into a future-proof industry."

There is also the opportunity to go on to study for a Master's degree - for example in electrical engineering or industrial engineering - and thus strategically expand your own qualifications.
