Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is the first German-speaking university to be recognised by the Fachverband Traumapädagogik (FVTP) and the Deutschsprachige Gesellschaft für Psychotraumatologie (DeGPT) as an institute for certified further training for the "Trauma pedagogy/trauma-centred counselling" curriculum since December 2023. The recognition as an institution for further education was initiated by the course directors Prof. Dr Elke Gemeinhardt and Prof. Dr Joachim Henseler (DHGE Gera) of the Master's degree programme "Social Work and Trauma Pedagogy" and by the coordinator Ms Ines Jahne.
The Fachverband Traumapädagogik (FVTP) and the Deutschsprachige Gesellschaft für Psychotraumatologie (DeGPT) together form a scientific professional association and offer further training for various professional groups, such as social workers, educators, psychologists and representatives of other professional groups who work in socio-educational, psychotherapeutic, medical and counselling settings with people with trauma stress and trauma-related disorders.
Through the recognition of the FVTP/DeGPT, students of the continuing education Master's programme can acquire the certificate in trauma pedagogy/trauma-centred specialist counselling in the course of their studies, provided that they have three years of professional experience in the social field before starting the programme.
We are delighted to have been recognised and would like to thank everyone involved in the application process!
