Home | With trust and growth: Successful completion of the management programme at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences
5 December 2024
The modular management development programme at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, which was launched in cooperation with Techniker Krankenkasse, came to an end on 28 November 2024. The programme, initiated by Chancellor Jan Funke, was aimed at managers from various areas of the university. The aim was to strengthen them in their role, acquire valuable skills for working with their teams and develop a deeper understanding of leadership tasks and challenges.
In a total of seven modules over a period of one and a half years, the participants learnt important practical skills, including effective communication, conflict management, team dynamics, stress management and self-care. Each module was accompanied by workshops and practice-orientated exercises that not only promoted the transfer of theoretical knowledge, but also the exchange of ideas among the participants.
Dr Kathrin Carl, business coach and HR development expert, guided the participants through the modules. With her empathy and expertise, she created a space in which trust and openness prevailed. "Dr Carl not only managed to impart knowledge, but also to create an atmosphere in which growth, reflection and honest exchange were possible," praised Chancellor Jan Funke at the closing event.
For the participants, the programme was more than just further training. It was an emotional and formative time in which they not only learnt a lot about leadership strategies and their teams, but also about themselves and the work and challenges of their colleagues. What was initially a heterogeneous group developed into a close relationship of trust over the months. This bond will last beyond the end of the seminar: The participants plan to meet regularly to conduct collegial case consultations and continue to support each other - a benefit not only for the managers themselves, but also for the entire university.
"The programme not only helped us on a professional level, but also on a personal level," summed up one participant. "The collaboration and dialogue in this atmosphere of trust was incredibly valuable."
The university would like to thank all those involved, in particular the Techniker Krankenkasse, which supported the programme as a partner, and Dr Kathrin Carl, who made this special project a success with her expertise and commitment.
With the modular management development programme, Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences has taken a further step towards modern and future-oriented personnel development. The positive feedback from participants is proof that investing in the further development of managers is not only of lasting benefit to the individual, but to the institution as a whole.
