Home | Successful participation of the Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences running group in the Stolberg Castle Run
13 June 2023
The Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences running group has successfully taken part in several sporting events in recent weeks, including the Harztorlauf in Niedersachswerfen, the Vogelberglauf in Bleicherode and the Stolberg Castle Run last Saturday.
The Stolberg Castle Run comprises various routes that are both challenging and picturesque. The running group took part in two disciplines: the 10-km run and the 5-km walk. Runners Marleen Kotschenreuther, Arwed Meinert and Pascal Leibbrandt completed the 10-km route from Stolberg Castle through the entire village and back along natural forest paths twice in total. Alexandra Aberle came 2nd in the 5-km walk.
Marleen Kotschenreuther's victory on the 10-km course was particularly outstanding. The Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences running group would like to congratulate her on this remarkable achievement and wish her continued success.
A big thank you goes to the company Neltner Großküchen GmbH from Nordhausen, which sponsored the entry fees for this run. Without this generous support, it would not have been possible for the running group to take part.
The running group at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is open to all interested parties, regardless of whether they are students or employees. The group usually meets every Thursday at 20:00. Further information on the meeting points and other details can be found under the following link: Herealong ...
Walkers are also welcome to take part in the group's activities. They meet on Tuesdays at 16:30 and Thursdays at 16:00 in front of the gym and train under the guidance of Szilvia Schelenhaus. It doesn't matter whether you are a beginner or already have experience - everyone is welcome. For those who have running as a goal but can't start yet due to a lack of fitness, walking offers a gentle and healthy way to build up a base of endurance to make it easier to start running.
Those interested can take part regularly or just once to get a taste of the group. The running group at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences is looking forward to welcoming new members and achieving sporting goals together.
